Child's Observation

Child's Observation

We offer neurodiversity-affirming child observations within nursery, school, or educational settings to help develop a better understanding of a child’s strengths, differences, needs, and areas requiring support. Observations are carried out in a supportive and non-intrusive manner and can contribute towards understanding a child’s presentation within educational and social environments.

Observations may support:

  • EHCP applications and annual reviews

  • school support planning

  • autism and ADHD assessment pathways

  • neurodevelopmental understanding

  • sensory and emotional well-being support

  • educational and social communication profiling

  • transition planning and school-based recommendations

Observations may include consideration of:

  • social interaction and communication

  • emotional regulation

  • attention and engagement

  • sensory processing differences

  • independence and daily functioning

  • play and peer interaction

  • transitions and flexibility

  • classroom participation and learning behaviours

Following the observation, families and schools receive a comprehensive written report including detailed observations, strengths-based formulation, practical recommendations, and supportive strategies tailored to the child’s individual needs.
